In a theme emanating across malls and retail stores in America this picture is a sad example of taking Christmas out of Santa’s Village. No where on this setup will you see the words Christmas, only Happy Holidays. Are we really to the point of celebrating Santa while removing any mention of Christmas? What are the other holidays being referenced in a Happy Holidays message on a Santa’s Village display? We here at All Star must not be aware of the many Holidays that include Santa in their history.

The American Family Association has done a nice job of creating the 2011 Naughty or Nice Christmas list which lists the companies that do a great to a poor job of recognizing Christmas. To verify of the accuracy of this list we decided to “randomly” pick one website on their list, Victoria’s Website. After a comprehensive review of their website we found lots of messaging saying Holiday but alas no mention of Christmas. You can get a naughty Sexy Little Santa outfit from their Holiday Lingerie shop but that comes without a Merry Christmas. Victoria’s Secret shamelessly markets Christmas for a profit but carefully calculates the removal of any mention of Christmas. Of course, selling a Sexy Little Santa outfit could be a bit tricky while reminding the buyer why Christmas exists in the first place. Merry Christmas!
