Jeopardy used to limit contestants to $75,000 in winnings in a single show, with the balance donated to charity. The cap was gradually raised over time and removed entirely in 2003.

There is no cap but prior to 2003 there was a a five-day limit imposed on returning champions.
When did the Jeopardy! dollar values change?
The current series’ first round originally ranged from $100 to $500, and were doubled to $200 to $1,000 on November 26, 2001. The Double Jeopardy round changed from $400 to $2,000 at the same time.

No, as of 2018 this was officially prohibited. Jeopardy also does not allow betting $666, $14, $88, or $1488. The number 666 has satanic associations in Christianity, and 1488 is a white supremacist symbol.
What if there is a tie on Jeopardy?
If there are two or three players tied for first place after each contestant unveils their Final Jeopardy response, Alex will present one more category and read the clue. The clue has no dollar value and does not increase the player’s winnings.
